Unni Vacation to Wisconsin

The Unni's had a vacation in Madison and Lake Geneva this year, so Rohan and his cousins had lots of fun picking strawberries at Jen-Ehr farms, hanging out together, and having fun on the beach in Lake Geneva. We all had so much fun!!!

A day in the Park/Rohan's first day of daycare

Rohan's first day of daycare was happy and sad for us. We were happy because of all the new experiences and fun he would have, as well as how much he would learn about the world, and interacting with other children. On the other hand, we no longer got to see him for 8+ hours per day each, and he does so much now that we don't know about.

It's now been almost 2 months since he started, and he has lots of fun, and doesn't cry when Daddy drops him off. One of the most memorable moments of his first days at daycare was his obsession with the child-height sink in the clasroom. He loved to turn it on and off so much, that the teachers had to turn off the water flow to the pipe.

Also here are some pictures of a day in the park, where Rohan blew the seeds from a dandelion for the first time.

The Journey The Movie (Sancharram)

Ligy Pullappally (my sister-in-law) has written and directed a truly beautiful film, called Sancharram, or (translated to English) The Journey. It won an award at the Chicago International Film Festival, and she recently negotiated a distribution deal with Wolfe. It's currently making the film festival circuit, so be sure to check it out when it comes to a city near you.

Today we finally admitted to ourselves that our baby was no longer a newborn. He ate. Literally. Normally when we say, "Our baby just ate" we mean that he drank. Today, he ate rice cereal! I'm sure non-parents and even a few parents won't understand the significance of today, but for us, it was a camcorder-worthy event. No more than a few (baby-size) spoonfuls actually made it to his mouth, and when the camcorder was turned off I'm pretty sure he puked it all up, but he did it. There's such a mix of emotions. On the one hand, I feel sad that my little baby is growing up (and so fast!) but on the other hand, my little boy is growing up!

Baby's First Cold

So our son has been working his way through his very first cold. After a short freak-out at 3AM Monday morning, we managed to calm down and help comfort him through it. I hope it is done soon.

Well, we have some more photos of Rohan. Rohan is now 2 weeks old, he now weighs 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and his umbilical cord has dried up and been lost somewhere. He remains very healthy, especially his lungs (crying in background). He can even lift up his head a bit now.

It turns out my brother Mark and his wife Amanda, just put in an offer that was accepted on this house near Park Rapids, MN. Closing date is just after Thanksgiving. I look on with envy at all their space. I live in 900 sq ft, and they have 2 acres. Congratulations, Mark and Amanda.

Well, after waiting a long time, we have a clear picture of our baby. Although we chose not to find out the sex of the baby, we have our suspicions. The ultrasound was amazing. The technician showed us the baby's bladder, kidneys, legs, arms, spine, and face from many angles. Ultrasound imaging is so amazing. Anyways, if you mouse over the image after clicking, there are some notes to orient you.
